For a second I thought it was Tuesday and was freaking out about forgetting this.  Then I realized it’s Monday and that made me sad.

This week’s kitty is Margarite!  She’s a sweet, young dilute tortie who is looking for a cozy house to spend her life in.  Could yours be the one?

What a sweet little face!

Margarite is currently living at the West Milford Animal Shelter Society in West Milford, New Jersey.  My boys came from New Jersey, so they’re turning out some awesome cats down there!  Clearly this girl is going to be an awesome friend to somebody – I just hope she finds them soon.  She’s fully vetted and ready to meet you!

For more information, please contact WMASS at their website, or check out their facebook.

Hey the week is almost over – again!  They keep going so quickly.  At this rate, summer will be over before I’ve had a chance to enjoy it.

I can't wait to get back to Rockport this weekend!

This week’s quote is courtesy of Superconsndar on Something Awful:

Somewhere in the dark recesses of my parent’s attic there exists, from my childhood, a talking Ren doll. You pulled on its belly button and it would say rude Ren things. Over the years the voice thingy started to die and last time I found it while cleaning out the attic, probably 2 years ago or so, it made the most god awful screeching demon noise when I pulled the string.

Hooray Catdrugs!

Willow got her miracle (you will not come away from this with dry eyes).

I want to be as comfortable as this cat looks.

Goat figures out how to hack a food vending machine at a petting zoo!

A muddy dog is a happy dog.

Dog gets the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!

The weeks feel like they move pretty quickly in the summer.  It’s a shame – I’d love to savor the weekends, somehow fit in everything I want to do!

This week’s meowser is Kallista!  She is a picture of beauty and mystery:

So shortly into kitten season we find ourselves diving into Adopt-A-Cat month!

Adopt-A-Cat Promotion

Brought to you in June by American Humane Association

Spring … season of tulips, lilies, daffodils – and cat adoptions!

Each spring during “kitten season,” thousands of newborn kittens join the millions of cats already in shelters across the country. That means your local shelter has tons of cute, cuddly newborns, in addition to all the mellow, older cats and everything in between. And the shelter staff are ready to help you adopt your very first cat — or to bring home a friend for another beloved cat!

  1. If you’re thinking about adopting a cat, consider taking home two.
  2. Find a cat whose personality meches with yours.
  3. Pick out a veterinarian ahead of time and schedule a visit within the first few days following the adoption.
  4. Make sure everyone in the house is prepared to have a cat before it comes home.
  5. Budget for the short- and long-term costs of a cat.
  6. Stock up on supplies before the cat arrives.
  7. Cat-proof your home.
  8. Go slowly when introducing your cat to new friends and family.
  9. Be sure to include your new pet in your family’s emergency plan.
  10. If you’re considering giving a cat as a gift, make sure the recipient is an active participant in the adoption process.

For more information on how you can help, please visit the Adopt-A-Cat Month! website.

In just before closing!  Sorry about the delay – I’m sick, at work and swamped!

Anywho, this is Boomer:

Quick, look surprised!

(pictures belong to Charles River Alleycats)

Boomer has been chillaxing at the Charles River Alleycats rescue, waiting for YOU!  And no, I didn’t pick Boomer because his name happens to be a character I like in Battlestar.  Ok – maybe I did.

This week’s meowser is a mom who looks like she could really use a break from kittens.

Somebody get me out of here!

(photo courtesy of Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control)

At only six pounds, she probably needs all the help she can get with those babies!  This three year old kitty is only known as “A1575169” but I’m sure you could come up with a nicer name for her.

Do you think you have the right home for this girl?  She looks like she could use a nice soft pillow on a window seat.  If you would like to learn more, please contact Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control.

Today I bring you a puppy. Now usually when people ask what I’d recommend in a dog I say NOT A PUPPY! Also NOT A BEAGLE! But I almost always say no puppies because, lets face it, they’re difficult. Just like kittens (I always say no kittens, but end up with them – go figure) they are rude, destructive, still learning their potty training, rude, have insane amounts of energy and are rude. Basically you’re taking on the toddler of another species and trying to raise it to be a sensible member of your family.

BUT ANYWAY here is Mya. With a smile like this, I cannot resist:

I know I'm cute!
